Concern for Community
We're committed to serve our members and communities.
Operation Interdependence provides military care packages and support to active military members overseas and to veterans at home. O.I. ® is a nation-wide 501(c)3 organization that has no paid volunteers. Everyone, including our board members and National President, do their jobs out love for the military.
Grand Valley Power employee's provided $6,000 in donations and provided 1,000 care packages to our armed forces in 2019. This year, we hope to raise $3,000 in donations, 1,500 care packages and 1,500 handwritten letters. But, we need our members help to support this cause.
How Can You Help?
Donate Care Package Items:
From September 11 through November 11, we're hosting a supply drive for care package items. A list of most needed items can be found above. A more extensive list can be found here: Care Package Approved Items
- Drop off location: 845 22 Road, Grand Junction, Colorado 81505
Donate Funds To Operation Interdependence:
Prefer to donate dollars versus items? You can find the official website and donation site here: Operation Interdependence web
Handwritten letters are hard to come by these days. Which is why OI depends on volunteers and folks like you, to provide letters that will go with each care package. Preferably, letters should be handwritten and not typed. Cards will be accepted. NO GLITTER or GLOW-IN-THE-DARK items. For additional letter guidelines please see our "Do's and Don'ts" PDF.
Alternatively, get your kids or grandchildren involved! Operation Interdependence also loves to send drawings and coloring pages as well! We've provided some suggested coloring pages below to get you started on a fun and free activity.
You can send in your completed drawings, cards, notes and colored pages to: Grand Valley Power, Attn: Member Services, 845 22 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81505
You can also drop them off in-person or through our drop boxes located inside City Market and Safeway's (excluding Redlands) around Mesa County.
